The 2021/22 Season for U15 rep was a combined team with Castlegar. The team included 9 Nelson players, 2 - 2007’s and 7 – 2008’s. The team had a successful season, coming in 3rd in the OMAHA League. Unfortunately, they were not successful against the Trail U15 tier 3 team to advance to BC provincials.
The team was comprised of a great group of U15 kids and parents. They practiced twice a week out of Castlegar, did a dryland session once per week, were able to compete in a few tournaments throughout the season as well as exhibition games with teams out of the East Kootenay. The coaching staff was provided by Castlegar Minor Hockey and were great leaders for the U15 kids.
As a parent of one of the Nelson team members and Board member of NMHA I was extremely impressed with this hockey season. CMHA, the parent group and kids all worked hard to make it a successful year. I would have zero problems recommending a combined team at any age group with Castlegar.
I’m sad it has come to an end!
