Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination for the McDonald’s Champion Kids contest. The essays were fantastic – we were so proud to hear about all the amazing kids taking part in the McDonald’s atoMc Hockey and Équipe McDo program.

The 2012-13 Nelson Minor Hockey Association Executive has been named following the Annual General Meeting that was held on Wednesday May 2 at the New Grand Hotel. Many of the positions remain unchanged from the previous hockey season including Tony Maida returning for another year as the Association’s president. Tracy Tambellini has signed on as secretary. What is NMHA doing to keep our kids safe?

We implement an effective Risk Management program as per Hockey Canada guidelines and requirements. Each team has a volunteer Safety Person who’s job it is to minimize and eliminate risks, promote Fair Play, ensure each player is free from physical and/or emotional maltreatment and conduct regular checks of players’ equipment, maintain a first aid kit and more.
